Honestly, this book blew me away. I was not expecting this emotional rollercoaster or loving all these characters as much as I did. Part one is a little rough, but Bullseye's journey to healing, accepting, and growing in part two was the more emotional part. This gorgeous cover and the sign-up blurb are what drew me in but I don't remember if the abuse in part one was mentioned. Triggers for kidnapping/child abuse in part one.
This was my first time reading a K.L. Savage novel and as soon as I can I'm starting this series from the beginning.
Growing up Waylon had a pretty good life and one day he was taken from his parents and kept chained in a dark basement. He doesn't understand why they treat him so poorly and one-day things change for the worse. He is forced to do things he does want to do. Until he is finally able to escape this cruel reality.
Eighteen years later he is part of the Ruthless Kings MC, who took him after he walked out of the woods covered in ash and emaciated.
He's wanted Ruby Raine for a while now but she keeps turning him down. She brings a calmness to him that he hasn't felt in a long time. He realizes that he has to confront his past in order to have a future with her. It's not easy but she shows him that it's okay to let go.
