For Whatever We Lose

Image
source Maggie and Milly and Molly and May e.e.cummings maggie and milly and molly and may went down to the beach (to play one day) and maggie discovered a shell that sang so sweetly she couldn’t remember her troubles, and milly befriended a stranded star whose rays five languid fingers were; and molly was chased by a horrible thing which raced sideways while blowing bubbles: and may came home with a smooth round stone as small as a world and as large as alone. For whatever we lose(like a you or a me) it’s always ourselves we find in the sea Happy Weekend! xo Alicia

Happy Thanksgiving

Image
source  via Pinterest Thanksgiving Day By L. Maria Child Over the river and through the wood, To grandfather's house we go; The horse knows the way To carry the sleigh Through the white and drifted snow. Over the river and through the wood-- Oh, how the wind does blow! It stings the toes And bites the nose, As over the ground we go. Over the river and through the wood, To have first-rate play. Hear the bells ring, "Ting-a-ling-ding!" Hurrah for Thanksgiving Day! Over the river and through the wood, And straight through the barn-yard gate. We seem to go Extremely slow-- It is so hard to wait! Over the river and through the wood-- Now grandmother's cap I spy! Hurrah for the fun! Is the p...

source Walk Into My Parlor By Mary Howitt <><><><> <><><><> <><><><> "Will you walk into my parlor?" said the spider to the fly; "Tis the prettiest little parlor that you ever did spy. The way into my parlor is up a winding stair, And I have many curious things to show when you are there." "Oh no, no!" said the little fly, "to ask me is in vain; For who goes up your winding stair can never come down again." Christmas Star!

Image
source A diamond shines no brighter than that lovely Christmas star. It shines in all its brilliance; it's seen from near or far. A symbol of the Christ child as He lay upon the hay, It tell to all the waiting world a King was born that day. O Bethlehem Star keep shining - give us faith and hope and love. Keep our thoughts forever turning to the Savior up above. Give us strength and hope and courage to do our best by far And never falter in our faith as we watch that Christmas star...
