Review: A Rake's Rebellion by Cynthia Breeding

Image
A Rake's Rebellion by Cynthia Breeding My rating: 4 of 5 stars This book starts with Lord Barclay waking up after a night of drinking in bed with a fully dressed woman in his bed. When she tells him that they are married, his wheels start turning looking for a way out. Sarah Vincent, is an orphan who was raised in an American convent. She didn't ask for this marriage but she's willing to try if only her groom wasn't set on keeping their marriage in name only. This book is a bit of a slow burn. Their first kiss doesn't happen till some point near the end. But the story definitely kept me interested. Sarah has to figure out how to fit into the social scene even though she has no interest. With the help of Lady Caroline, a new wardrobe is ordered and when her husband sees her and notices she has a figure that she once hid under her drab dresses. When he observes other men taking notice of his wife, he does not like it and tries to stamp down the feelings it brings u

Diamond in the Rogue by Wendy LaCapra

Image
Diamond in the Rogue by Wendy LaCapra My rating: 4 of 5 stars This is the third book in the Lords of Chance series by Wendy LaCapra. There were things going on from the previous books that I didn't understand at first, so I'll probably go back and read those books. In an act of revenge, Lord Rayne kissed Lady Julia and was sent packing to America. He's back to give his sister away in marriage and settle his affairs before returning to America. But when he sees Lady Julia the time and a distance apart has done nothing to dispel how he feels about her. Lady Julia has given up on love because she'll only ever love Lord Rayne. Seeing him at her brother's wedding makes it easier for her to follow through Farring's idea and kidnap Rayne, compromising them both. Whenever possible, put the good things about a book or author up front. Criticize the book, not the author, if you don’t like what you’ve read. Explain why. I really enjoyed this book. They are both in love

Seduced by Kate Allure

Image
Seduced by Kate Allure My rating: 4 of 5 stars If BDSM is not your thing, and that's okay, skip this book. Victoria/Tori is an appointed judge who serves in the Royal Courts, who feels like she has it all. But there is something when it comes to her sex life. Her longtime companion is not fulfilling her and when she tries to spice things up he dismisses her attempts at seduction. And it's no help that the young barrister, Ian King's courtroom flirtations leave her feeling excited. When she breaks up with the Boring Baron, she accepts her best friends invitation to an exclusive sex club. She meets a stranger who gives her the mind-blowing sex she's yearned for and she knows that one night with the handsome stranger will never be enough. Honestly, I almost did not like Tori. I couldn't understand her unwillingness to give a younger man a chance. I absolutely despited her ex, Rupert. I did not like him at all. Of course, I figured out why later. Looking forward to t

My Forever Plus-One

Image
My Forever Plus-One by Shannyn Schroeder My rating: 5 of 5 stars This is my first time reading anything from this author and I really enjoyed this book from cover to cover. This is the third book in her series Daring Divorcees but is a stand-alone. It's Owen and Evelyn's book. Owen is Evelyn's best friend and both are beginning to wonder if everyone is right about them being perfect for each other. They both know sex will change what they have right now. Will they take the risk? I loved both of these characters. They both knew how to support each other. I just found myself rooting for them. View all my reviews
