The Blood King by Abigail Owen

Image
The Blood King by Abigail Owen My rating: 5 of 5 stars I love this series. The action/adventure made this impossible to put down. I also love how even though these two know there is a connection they don't easily give in. Skylar is strong and isn't afraid of Ladon or his reputation. And when they finally give in their chemistry is pretty great. I'm already jonesing for the next book. Skylar Amon and her sisters have been hiding ever since their father was killed. And when the enemy found them years later, their mother used her Phoenix powers to teleport them all to safe hiding spots. When Skylar hears that her sister Kasia has mated a dragon she's sure it's against her will. But when she reaches her, she's shocked to learn they are destined mates. When Ladon Ormarr, the Blood King, catches her scent he knows he has to have her. ARC provided by Entangled via NetGalley View all my reviews Pick up a copy today! xo Alicia

Who Wants to Marry a Duke by Sabrina Jeffries

Image
Who Wants to Marry a Duke by Sabrina Jeffries My rating: 5 of 5 stars I really enjoyed this book overall. For some reason, I don't remember Thorn being this grumpy but that's okay I like grumpy heroes. Anyway, I liked that he was drawn to Olivia because she wasn't anything like other debutantes. Olivia is a little socially awkward but he feels the same and being with her puts him at ease. Marlowe Drake, the Duke of Thornstock first met Miss Olivia Norley nine years earlier. They shared a kiss, one he hasn't forgotten. But he also hasn't forgotten or forgiven that it lead to blackmail sparked by that kiss. Now Thorn's half-brother Grey has hired Miss Norley for her knowledge as a chemist to help solve a troubling family mystery. Thorn convinced that Olivia is up to no good invites himself to his brother's estate to keep an eye on her. Figuring out if Grey's father was killed by arsenic poisoning might just be the experiment that helps launch

The Wedding Date Disaster by Avery Flynn

Image
I can’t believe I have to go home to Nebraska for my sister’s wedding. I’m gonna need a wingman and a whole lot of vodka for this level of family interaction. At least my bestie agreed he’d man up and help. Too bad he had to catch a different flight than me. Then his plane got delayed. And finally—because bad things always happen in threes—instead of my best friend, his evil twin strolls out of the airport. If you looked up doesn’t-deserve-to-be-that- confident, way-too-hot-for-his-own-good billionaire in the dictionary, you’d find a picture of Grady Holt. He’s awful. Horrible. The worst—even if his butt looks phenomenal in those jeans. Ten times worse? My buffer was supposed to be there to keep me away from the million and one family events. But Satan’s spawn just grins and signs us up for every. Single. Thing. Fine. “Cutthroat” Scrabble? I’m in. I can’t wait to take this guy down a notch. But somewhere between Pictionary and the teasing glint in his eyes, our bickering starts to f

Her Aussie Holiday by Stefanie London

Her Aussie Holiday by Stefanie London My rating: 4 of 5 stars This is definitely a fun and sweet beach read! It was great to be transported back to Patterson's Bluff. We get to visit with some characters from the Aussie Next Door, which I enjoyed but this is standalone so you won't feel lost if you haven't read that book. Cora Cabot's life is not panning out the way she'd hoped. So she swaps homes with her Australian friend takes an internship in the States. It'll only be a month but she plans to work on the manuscript her father rejected and get some space from the relationship her mother essentially destroyed. She wasn't expecting to meet hunky Trent Walters who finds her flooding his sister's house and destroying the family project she was working on. She insists on helping him fix the damage she caused and recreating the scrapbook. Which only helps endear her to him. He knows she'll have to return to the States maybe he can convince

Book Tour: Everything a Lady is Not by Sawyer North

Image
Lucy Locket, the long lost granddaughter of a duchess, has never been a part of Society. One day, she was living a secluded life as the prisoner of a criminal, and the next day she was an heiress in a world she did not even remotely understand. She does not embody the typical qualities of a well-born lady...at all. She can't curtsy, she doesn’t hide her emotions, she’s too clever by far. But in three months, she must marry a suitor with a royally-bestowed title, or she forfeits a fortune—leaving her and the duchess in dire straits. All Henry Beaumont wants is to prove himself to Society and step outside of his half-brother’s shadow. So when the duchess asks him for a personal favor involving her newly found granddaughter—with a hefty thank you reward at the end—he leaps at the opportunity. It seems as if Lucy is trading one prison for another. Henry has now become a permanent fixture as her charming yet iron-fisted taskmaster and tutor in the ways of High Society. Like oil and w

The Reality of Everything by Rebecca Yarros

Image
The Reality of Everything by Rebecca Yarros My rating: 5 of 5 stars Wow, wow, wow! This book was so emotional and so moving. The grief Morgan goes through felt real and raw. And those moments/scenes had me tearing up. Jackson's steady unwavering love was so swoony. And the action near the end made it almost impossible to look away, put the book down. It's also the fifth book in the Flight & Glory series. And can be read as a stand-alone. I hadn't read any of the previous books in this series and didn't feel one bit lost. Morgan Bartley lost the man she loved two years ago in Afghanistan. Now she's in Cape Hatteras restoring an old house as she tries to put herself back together and to distract her from her debilitating anxiety attacks. Jackson Montgomery is a single father who lives next door. His life is his daughter and his job as a pilot for the search and rescue for the Coast Guard. Their attraction is undeniable but Morgan's fear keeps him at

Who's That Earl by Susanna Craig

Image
Who's That Earl by Susanna Craig My rating: 5 of 5 stars I'm so glad I pick this arc up.  It was a good blend of suspense and romance. And the steamy scene were quite steamy. The last twenty-five per cent was hard to put down. It's my first from this author and it was most definitely my cup of tea.  I'm looking forward to diving into her backlist. Miss Jane Quayle is living under quite a few secrets. She writes gothic novels under a pen name and is posing as a widow who works for the author. All steps to protect herself while living at Dunnock Castle. Now she's received a letter threatening the mysterious author Thomas Sutherland has been abroad working as a spy for the British army now he's back in the Scottish highlands because of an inheritance that now makes him an earl of Magnus and Dunnock Castle is his official residence currently occupied by the woman he wooed before receiving his commission. Thomas is surprised to see the woman whose very m
