Review: The Wild, Wild Rake by Janna MacGregor

Image
source Wild, Wild Rake by Janna MacGregor My rating: 5 of 5 stars Loved this book! It's historical, the vicar is a hot virgin and Lady Avalon's chance to find love again. It took me a few chapters to adjust to the pacing and language of the book. But once I found my rhythm I found an appreciation for their witty banter. In the beginning, Mr Devan Farris, vicar, is sent by his brother to spy on Lady Warwyck. Devan agrees to go, glad to help with her son young lord Thane to ensure he receives the necessary training and education. But his brother must tell her he wants the estate books reviewed. The last thing she wants is a man connected to her dead husband interfering with her charity work. Thane tries to ruin them by locking them in the wine cellar overnight. Hoping that they will be forced to marry. He likes Devan and wants his mother to be happy. This is a little bit of a slow burn but once they are married, it gets steamy! 4.5 ARC provided by NetGalley #WildWildRake #...

Review: Great and Precious Things by Rebecca Yarros

Image
source Great And Precious Things by Rebecca Yarros My rating: 5 of 5 stars READ THIS BOOK! You won't regret it! Yes, it's a romance but also so much more! What a great read! Even though I had read the description, I wasn't ready for how emotionally gripping this book would be. I'm not even sure what I should say in this review for fear of giving anything away. Camden Daniels has come back to the small town of Alba, Colorado after swearing to never return. But a message from his father brings him home again. There is one person he's always looked out for, Willow Bradley. But he's convinced himself that it's best to stay away from her. Because if she knew the secret he holds she may never look at him the same. As you learn about this couple's past, you come to realize that they have been in love with each other since forever and have no idea the other felt the same. And everyone is convinced that he is still a troublemaker not good enough for the to...

Review: The Bachelor by Sabrina Jefferies

Image
source The Bachelor by Sabrina Jeffries My rating: 5 of 5 stars I have been looking forward to this book ever since I got a peek at the first chapter last year! I couldn't read this fast enough. And the action in this book was pretty good. Lady Gwyn Drake is being blackmailed by her former suitor, who is threatening to go public with her secrets. When war hero Major Joshua Wolfe finds her being shaken by the scoundrel he shoots over their heads to chase the man away. Gwyn tells Joshua that the man meant to rekindle their relationship and kidnap her, in order to keep the blackmailing a secret. Now Major Wolfe has been hired by her brother the Duke of Thornhill, to be her bodyguard to keep her safe as she makes her debut in London. Their first kiss was good. But their second kiss, when he takes to practice shooting was amazing. And that scene in the orangery was fire! I think I was even blushing as I read it, despite having read plenty of steamy romance novels. I can't wai...

Review: Echoes From the Veil by Colleen Halverson

Image
source Echoes from the Veil by Colleen Halverson My rating: 4 of 5 stars This was such a good book. The only problem for me was I should have read the first two books. I felt a little lost, cause I wasn't familiar with the some of the back story. I definitely recommend these books be read in order. Elizabeth is now the leader of the Faerie rebellion. She has to be strong to lead the Fae against the threat they face or risk losing everything, especially Finn the love of her life. Finn fights by her side, there's nowhere else he'd be. An ancient Celtic goddess threatens to take him away from Elizabeth. Those last scenes had me holding my breath. And I may have gotten a little teary-eyed. Now I need to go back and read this series from the beginning. Review: Keep Me Wanting by Angela Addams

Image
source Keep Me Wanting by Angela Addams My rating: 5 of 5 stars Maggie-coffee shop girl who asks the guy she drools after to be her fake boyfriend just for five minutes, to help deal with her mother. Liam- He can't stop himself from helping her out. He finds Maggie attractive and the more time he spends with her keeps him wanting more. He should stay away, but he can't. Hearing her mother criticize her changes his mind and he signs up to help her survive the family reunion. So the main parts of this book take place at the resort where the reunion is being held. There are so many funny scenes with all the relatives you meet. And of course sexy times. This was my first time reading Angela Addams and I really enjoyed her writing. She also writes paranormal and I'm gonna go check all those books out after. ARC provided by Entangled Publishing via NetGalley View all my reviews
