Wow, October has been good to me this year! First the concert earlier this month at the Hollywood Bowl (saw 30 Seconds to Mars) and then last night at the Fonda (Cocorosie). I'm hoping for more concerts! xo Alicia

Right Brain Planner Tip Ins

Image
I really love using my Right Brain Planner as an added tip-in for my art journal. They add interest and fun spaces to gather words. Some times they are my words, other times they are someone else's. They also allow for doodling and adding color. These of course are still works in progress. Seeing these pages in there make my happy. I'm also wondering what else I'd might like to add as a tip in. Postcards? I think so. Do you use tip ins? I'm off to crochet a last minute gift. Till tomorrow xo Alicia

Journal Love

Image
I've shared this before but here it is finally finished, journaling done. The last two weeks I've journaled more often than I have in the last year. It's been great to get some of those ideas, feelings and crap outta my head.  This is a tip in I added to my journal. It's a page from the Right Brain Planner that I doodled on and added secret messages for myself on the back. I'm off to go do some more journaling. Till tomorrow.   xo Alicia

Playing with Paint

Image
I love how these turned out. The last two are missing some journaling I just wasn't sure what words I wanted to place there. Now all I want to do it make maybe even buy more stencils and play with paint. xo Alicia

Stencils are Done

Image
Woo Hoo! I finally got around to finishing that stencil I started a few weeks ago. I found the images online and traced them onto binder dividers from the dollar store. Then I made another. This one was tricky. I actually cut out the center piece accidently. But I was able to kinda cut tape it back together. This one was an experiment that someone had mentioned on Pinterest I believe. I printed out the image and then covered with contact paper on both sides.   Come back tomorrow and I'll show you how they turned out.   xo Alicia

30 Seconds to Mars

Image
I went to the Hollywood Bowl this past Saturday to see this amazing band. Great night! I wish I could say that I took a ton of pictures but I was too in the moment, singing, dancing, etc. This was all I got. Lol xo Alicia

Pretty Crochet Cowl Done

Image
This was such a quick, easy and pretty project, that all I want to do is make more! I found the pattern over on Aesthetic Nest  and just got around to making it. I also want to try this stitch using a thicker yarn.   I love this pattern so much I started another last night and finished it. But there was no time to take a proper picture. Hopefully later today I'll photograph these in some natural light. I think these cowls make perfect for a last minute gifts/stocking stuffers.   xo Alicia

Current Crochet Project

Image
I'm working on a cowl right now. Because I still haven't gone out to get the yarn I need to finish the cardigan. Ugh... Plus this week/weekend will still be to crazy to over to the yarn store. So I'll just have to crochet whatever quick crochet projects that I have yarn on hand for. Also I totally gave up on the hat I was having issues with last week. I swear I made that thing about four times! The only solution I can think of would be thicker yarn. But that will have to wait. xo Alicia

Serenity Now!

Image
I'm trying to not pull my hair out over here. I haven't been able to finish the cardigan that's almost finished because life has gotten in the way. So I haven't been able to get to the yarn store. Then because I have itchy fingers that want to keep crocheting, I started another piece. Ugh... so impatient sometimes. A pretty easy piece that I had enough scrap yarn to give it a go. I've worked the pattern twice so far. Each time I've worked the pattern it has come out too small! Okay I'm gonna go check out if there are any corrections, suggests, similar issues out there before I throw in the towel for today. See you tomorrow. xo Alicia

October Goals

Image
I can't believe it's October already! Time really seems to be flying on by. I looked over my goals from last month to help me set this month's goals. * I still need to read the books on my nightstand. I haven't picked up Under the Dome since the         beginning of last month. * Continue de-cluttering. There are clothes that no longer fit. I've hesitated putting these things the       give away box. I know there are more things to get rid of! * Continue working on my crochet projects. Two down! A few more to go. * Bind all the signatures I put together for junk journals. There are at least 10 journals worth sitting      there. The sleep pattern goal from last month is definitely getting better! Not where I wanted it to be but almost there. xo Alicia
